The Austrian Drug Screening Institute (ADSI) in Innsbruck has decided to additionally bestow the position of Executive Director and CEO on its current Scientific Director, o.Univ.-Prof.Mag.Dr.Dr.h.c. Günther Bonn, during its 10th Annual General Assembly on May 29th, 2019. Bonn, who is a co-founder of the ADSI, is one of the most renowned minds in analytic chemistry. ADSI’s new CEO has himself registered 29 patents and published more than 350 scientific publications. Bonn is part of the alma mater of the University of Innsbruck, where he has also been running the Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry for many years. He is also a member of the editorial board of several international scientific journals, like the Journal of Separation Science, Current in Medicinal Chemistry, and Pharmacogenomics, just to name a few of them. Furthermore, Günther Bonn has been awarded the Halasz’ Award, the EUSSS Nernst-Tswett Award, and the Csaba Horvath Memorial Award, among others, as well as the Badge of Honour (“Ehrenzeichen”) of the local Government of Tyrol. Additionally, he had been awarded an honorary doctorate from the Medical University of Lublin.

Markus Pasterk, head of the newly founded ADSI EU-Office located in Vienna, continues to offer his expertise as Senior Advisor for “International Relations”. He is internationally well connected in the scientific community and will contribute to ADSI with his many years of experience as programme manager and scientific coordinator. In 2009 Markus Pasterk founded with colleagues the “International Prevention Research Institute”, a private research organization based in Lyon, of which he was then also Vice President/COO. In 2014 he returned to Austria and took on the development of the European research infrastructure BBMRI-ERIC, based in Graz. Additionally, Pasterk holds a Visiting Professorship at the University of Milano-Bicocca, focusing on “Financial Management of Research Infrastructures”.
